Tim McConnell
Tim is a single father of four wonderful children, David(26), Meghan(20),
Sarah(16), and C.J.(12) He balances working for the Hickory Fire Department
with taking care of his family and taking CJ and himself to karate classes and
tournaments. Tim competes in tournaments as he can, but with CJ wanting to
compete in as many events as possible it is sometimes difficult. CJ is entered
first and Tim does everything he can to have him compete as often as possible.
Never the less, this did not prevent him from taking first place in his very first
tournament. In 2002 at the Mountain View Open Tim won the breaking division.
He also gained a World Championship title at the World Games in 2004 in
Myrtle Beach, SC. After recuperating from the World Games, Tim was able to
enter the 2005 Mountain View Open breaking division and win again! Tim helps
out the Dojo as much as possible, from things like helping to teach and setup
fundraisers, to just about anything else Sensei Armstrong needs.
